Instructions to care for your furniture
Timber
Timber is a natural material and therefore each product will have unique variations and natural blemishes. Natural timber expands and contracts due to temperature and humidity variations.
Avoid pacing the furniture in areas of direct heat of sunlight, damp environments or areas with irregular or extreme temperature changes (near heaters, steam, outdoor areas, etc). This will limit the natural movement of the timber and prevent warping and cracking over time.
To maintain this finish:
Regularly dust with a soft cloth and wipe occasionally with a slight damp cloth.
Any spills or potential stains can be prevented by immediately blotting the spillage, wiping down the area with a damp cloth and using a soft cloth to dry.
The use of abrasives, chemicals and other household cleaning products are not recommended, nor the application of polish, wax, oils or stains.
Avoid sliding items across the surface as this can abrade or scratch the timber surface and potentially damage the finish.
Steel surfaces
Soak a soft cloth in lukewarm water that is mixed with a small amount of pH neutral detergent (eg. dish washing liquid). After wiping furniture with this cloth, wipe it off again with a dry cloth.
Avoid using chemical, polish or oil treatments on furniture as it can reduce the lustre and shine of the surface and/or leave marks.
Please note liquids containing alcohol (e.g. nail polish remover) will damage the surface.
Do not use any detergent containing ammonia or bleach (do not use Handy Andy).
Use a soft cloth, do not use abrasive cleaning materials such as scouring pads.
Prolonged exposure to moisture could affect the surface finish, especially if the powder coating has been damaged.
Fabric & upholstery
All fabric surfaces are treated with Armour-it, a treatment to prevent stains, UV resistant and makes the lifespan of the fabric a little longer.
